I had a chat to Chris the other week to see how he was going....
How are you Chris? Hi, I’m good – lots on right now as it’s only a few weeks to Air NZ Fashion Week and that’s a pretty busy time coming up! We have nine shows under way – this year all our clients that applied to show went for solo’s.
What's it like owning Mint Condition, and therefore being a stylist for some of the most amazing magazines and designers of our time? Thanks! I like being my own boss, and working with such fantastic people – I can’t think of a better job to get me out of bed each day!
What have been the best shoot/show to style at to date and why? That’s like telling your kids which one is better than the other! But there have been quite a few that I think are particularly memorable and challenging – my shows for Natalija Kucija when I was new to the game, writing and styling for Staple magazine, meeting and working with Cybèle as I started the showroom round the same time as her label beginning and it’s grown into an great ongoing relationship.
What are the best and worst things about your job? Styling is a weird thing in that you can’t do it in private, so the hits and misses are always out there for better or worse! Best thing is the people that are involved and the creativity that abounds – shoots and shows are a real team effort, everyone works so hard and it’s so great when the final product looks just like you imagined.
When you’re not styling and working what do you like to get up to? Ummm... well I work a lot! But I make time to hang out with my boyfriend and friends – go out in | |
