A little like Sato Shintaro's Tokyo Twilight series, Davi Russo's Cities collection of photographs is an incredibly simple idea with some stunning outcomes. While there's probably nothing special about these images for people familiar with the cities, for others they are entire worlds.
How weird does Chicago look? How crazy is Tokyo? How pretty is Paris? How epic is New York?
New York-based Russo has a bunch of very interesting series on his website, including portraits of cage-fighters and sex workers, the documentary-style photos of the transition from regular guy to transvestite and the cultural revolution taking place in China (which was featured, along with an interview, on lostateminor.com).
