Readers that may have been caught in the traffic on the Westgate
Bridge, Sydney Harbour Bridge or whatever bridge you might need to
cross in you daily travels would definitely benefit from the amphibious
vehicles that are WaterCar. The Python is the ultimate in the WaterCar
stable and not for the faint hearted. Being able to travel
in excess of 100km/h on the water and from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds on
the street this machine is built to hammer. This kind of technology
doesn't come cheap though as prices for a fully customized Python begin
at USD$200,000. If that's a little outside of your budget, WaterCar
also have bolt-together, DIY car kits aptly called Gator which will set
you back USD$29,500. They're far from a performance vehicle though with
a top water speed of 8mph and around 85mph on the street. Even so, a
hell of a lot more appealing than being bumper to bumper every
morning.
