Like all great discoveries, we first came across The Royal Armaghedon by complete accident. We were out sourcing clothes for Issue 1 of Lifelounge Magazine and weren’t having much luck. Ok, that’s a bit of understatement, all the clothes sucked and we were about to can the whole shoot … that was until we came across the strange and beautiful creations of The Royal Armaghedon. Within seconds, our fashion shoot went from disaster to intergalactic jewelry spectacular.
Created by fine art study buddies, Cat Fuller and Amy Franz, The Royal Armaghedon have spent the last two years decorating the brave new world with wooden balls, ropes, chains and anything else they can get their crafty little hands on. And ‘little’ being the operative word, as nearly everything in their oversized range would dwarf even the chubbiest hands and necks.
The pair’s first collection was snapped up in Melbourne by the keen retail eyes of Cactus Jam, Alice Euphemia, Jade, Hummingbird 60 and Nicola. And in Sydney at the ever so tasteful Orson & Blake. Not bad for a couple of girls who did all of this while holding down their retail day jobs.
Their fourth collection, titled ‘In the company of ghosts’, is a wintry ode to a Victorian romance aesthetic and is due to hit stores in March 06. We haven’t seen it yet but if it’s anything like their previous range we’re pretty sure it’ll make anyone look good. Even disorganised magazine editors.
Prices for The Royal Armaghedon range from $80 to $200 for limited-edition pieces, and more for limited items and one-offs.
