TV On The Radio "Return To Cookie Mountain is cohesive, flowing beautifully throughout the entire album’s duration, making it one of the years best releases to date."
TV On The Radio
Return To Cookie Mountain By: Dimitri Kalagas

Impossible to pigeonhole, Brooklyn based band TV On The Radio are a true diamond in the rough of the indie music scene in 2006. With the release of their second album Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes in 2004, they arguably burst into the musical consciousness, commanding attention with their indefinable sound made up of an experimental and raw blend of soulful free jazz, psychedelia, post rock and electronica all complemented by the restrained lyrical prowess of Tunde Adebimpe. And while Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes showcased the stunning breadth of musicality TVOTR were capable of, what was more exciting was the promise of what might come next. This brings us to Return To Cookie Mountain, which continues the journey, displaying a progression and refinement of their sound without detracting from their superior ability to create a strong sense of atmosphere. Where Desperate Youth could be seen as an at times disparate, albeit amazing, collection of tracks, Return To Cookie Mountain is cohesive, flowing beautifully throughout the entire album’s duration, making it one of the years best releases to date.
