| America's obsession with burgers and fries |

It's no secret that Americans love their food... Their appetite for
fast food in particular is paralleled by nothing but the nation's rate
of obesity which literally dwarfs all others in comparison.
They want it hot, fast, tasty, consistent, and large... very large. In fact,
in my experience the serving sizes of the standard meal, at least the
one's that I've been served up in the States, would have to be on
average 2 to 3 times the size of what we'd be served here in Australia.
Where we might garnish a meal with a sprig of parsley, they garnish
with an avalanche of fries, pretty much regardless of the what the meal
is. There are obviously exceptions to this but these are definitely in
the minority. Anyway...
In her series entitled Consumed, US photographer Susana Raab
documents America's ingrain obsession with fast food. From the eating
contests, to the sponsored children's playground, Susana captures the
influence of the fast food franchise super powers, and the saturation
of their multiplying marketing tenticles on everyday American life.
It's actually a little sickening.
