Lifelounge speaking... Dec 06, 2007 at 11:58
Semi-Permanent is without a doubt the leading design conference in the world* and after Lifelounge got involved last year we were excited to hear that the 2008 conference is ticking along nicely. Well it is with great honor that we report that Lifelounge has been asked to speak at next years conference. There is a kind of vomit in mouth anticipation that comes with public speaking, especially in front of that many people, but to be honest we are very excited and will do our best to present great ideas and share our experiences in design over the past decade.

Check out the Sydney site as it has just gone up two hours ago. Also, please feel free to contact us about anything you would want to see from presenters like info on design, magazines, websites, research, marketing or phallic objects.

*Publisher opinion only ;)

congratulations! one thing i didn't like about the speakers last year was that I felt a few of the speakers just showed their portfolio. so my request is that you put some thought (not that i don't think you guys will) into an insightful presentation :)
True Respect
Thanks for the feedback Chapolito. I think a lot of speakers are so scared to get up and do it that they prefer to just go through their portfolio as generally designers are not presenters! We are (early stages) planning on showing works while also talking about the business side of design and marketing, what works, what doesn't. The magazine/web business is a tough one to make work unless you have the right model. Still not 100% sure, but what would YOU like to see is what we are interested in. What would make YOU feel like you got great info, as at the end of the day, we want people to feel like they learned something and they could take something away from the conference. Let me know!
