Being US President can be a tough gig. There are wars to fight, economic meltdowns to ignore and flying shoes to dodge. It’s enough to make a man (secretly) drink.
Thankfully, new president don’t have to worry about their transportation. Every incoming president gets their very own, highly modified car to chauffeur them around. Ever since someone tried to put a bullet in Franklin D. Roosevelt while he was ‘cruising’ in an open top Buick, these Presidential limousines have been built like tanks.
In more innocent times, organising wheels for the Commander in Chief was as easy as seizing one of Al Capone’s armoured cars and giving it to the President (true story), but things are a bit more sophisticated these days. For Obama’s sake, let’s hope so.
