Mel Ramos and his pin-up parody illustrations

Recognised as one of the main representatives of the Pop Art movement in the 1960's, Mel Ramos's well known illustrations depict pin-up girls glamourously draped over or within commercial objects like a garnish, reminiscent of the suggestive advertising of the 50s. His work aims to point out the ridiculousness and incompatibility of the two subjects used frequently by the advertising industry of the past and the irrelevance of their association.
