Exhibition of new works by Beth Josey Feb 19, 2009 at 12:29
Beth draws on inspiration from the world around her as well as fables and ghost stories. Viewing her work is akin stepping into a dislocated dream of shifting times and places where beauty turns to death and joy is found where it is least expected. Beth's interest in the biological has informed her artwork, rendering her an artist that can see beauty in depth beyond the skin, beyond facades of everyday life.

This showcase brings together artworks in different mediums to demonstrate the different visual strengths of each. Although Beth's work refuses to be characterised by a single regimented style or medium, the relationship between the works can always be found in the unquestionably strange nature of her subjects and compositions.

Where: The exhibition is showing at Marrickville Council’s Chrissie Cotter Gallery from March 4th to 28th 2009.

Opening Night Party: Wednesday March 4th, 6-9pm.
Diog Trio will be performing live in the gallery as part of the Opening Night Event.

Where?: Chrissie Cotter Gallery, Pidcock St Camperdown
