Remember Kanye West before his distorted Auto-Tune vocals and his borderline emo lyrics? Before he named himself the Louis Vuitton Don? Beforehe called us all SQUID BRAINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and before his 'Benjamin Buttons shit'?
In 2003 Mr West released his debut album The College Dropout which was jam-packed full of gems; samples from Chaka Khan, Marvin Gaye and Jackie Wilson, guest vocals from Talib Kweli, Jay-Z and Common, and some thoughtful and funny rhymes. Now the unreleased original version of 'We Don't Care' has appeared, featuring Keyisha Cole and GLC.

Maybe it's the fact that 'Paranoid' is so fucking good. Maybe it's the fact that he's dating a gay robot stripper who wears nothing but leggings. Maybe it's because re-visiting The College Dropout reminded me how properly great it is. Maybe I've finally fallen for all his self-promotion. Whatever the reason, Kanye West is totally back in my good books.
