"Oh, the irony of it all!" That’s the approach we believe Jacuzzi Boys, a three-piece boy band from Miami, are going for.
They’re a boy band in the sense that Gabriel, Diego and Danny are all in possession of a Y-chromosome, but apart from that, they share little to no connection with the truest sense of the term. And neither are they a rap trio whose 's' (at the end of 'boys') would be better served as a 'z'. Oh no. Instead Jacuzzi Boys is a dirty garage rock band, with fuzzy warped surf inclinations best shelved next to the current slew of so-called 'lo-fi' bands coming out of America right now.
The boys (or shall we bestow upon them an honorable 'z'?) have just released a full-length album No Seasons. Which is remarkable probably for a number of reasons, but the one that jumps out at me most is their cover-art; a black and white pencil drawing featuring a man, naked apart from some very long socks, tweaking the breasts of a woman dressed only in fuck me boots, as well as a 69er that appears to have gone somewhat awry. There may or may not be boobs floating in the sky as well, but they also may or may not just be two bloodshot eyes. Viewer’s interpretation, etc.
