George Mahashe – roaming royalty
Born in limpopo, South Africa, photographer George Mahashe worked as an assistant to the local roaming photographer from a very young age. Once he reached Year Eight, Mahashe got a camera of his very own and has been obsessed ever since. His shots have appeared in O magazine, Y magazine and Marie Claire. Mahashe says he was particularly keen on photographing "exotic looking women" but now his focus is more cultural, particularly the dichotomy between "the Western and African concern".
